Forgiveness...

Must I forgive those who refuse forgiveness?

Jesus taught His disciples to pray, “Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors” (Matthew 6:12). Does that mean we have to forgive even when they refuse reconcile?

First, the debts we owe one another are small change compared to the infinite debt we owe our heavenly Father. Because we have been forgiven an infinite debt, it is a horrendous evil to even consider withholding our forgiveness from those who seek it. Thus, we must always manifest the kind of love that is willing to forgive those who wrong us.

Furthermore, forgiveness is by definition a two-way street leading to the restoration of fellowship. It requires someone who is willing to forgive and someone who is wanting to be forgiven. If you are to forgive me, I must be repentant; otherwise, there can be no restoration of fellowship (i.e. forgiveness).

Finally we must never suppose that our standard of forgiveness is higher than God’s standard. He objectively offer us forgiveness and restoration of fellowship with Him. We do not subjectively realize His forgiveness, however, until we repent (Luke 6:37-38)

Removing the Books of Paul

There is a movement to remove the Books of Paul from the Bible. In fact, he is called by some to be a false Apostle. Why would the devil be so aggressively seeking to discredit Paul and remove his Books from the Bible? The answer is very easy... Paul tells us that he is the Apostles of the Gentiles and that the Gentiles are saved by Grace...not works. By removing these Books from the Bible...you remove the Gospel of Grace (1 Corinthians 15:1-4), which is what is taught by Paul. No Grace through the shed blood of Jesus Christ...no salvation.

Beware of the Enneagram

Beware the Enneagram. Facts first. For those not aware, the Enneagram is a said to be a nine-personality-type model of the human soul. The geometric symbol, pictured above, illustrates that the nine types are interconnected. Unlike the Meyers-Briggs 16 personality types used in business, and the temperament analysis of my late friend Tim LaHaye (sanguine, choleric, melancholic, phlegmatic), the Enneagram is rooted in the New Age, occult divination, and Islamic superstition. But the problem is, this dangerous typing of individual identities is gaining traction among many Christians. Richard Rohr has written “The Enneagram: A Christian Perspective.” (Rohr is a Catholic priest who teaches that God is neither male or female, advocates homosexuality, and declares that the crucifixion of Christ wasn’t necessary.) The Religion News Service (quoted and requoted by many evangelical publications) glowingly endorsed this system. The evangelical mission group Intervarsity Press has published “Mirror for the Soul: A Christian Enneagram.” Yet another “Christian” book is called, “The Sacred Enneagram.”

What’s the truth? The roots of the Enneagram go deep into witchcraft. One root is Oscar Ichazo, a Bolivian mystic who founded the Arica School, an early basis for New Age teaching. (I cover Arica in my “World Religions” book.) Another root is Claudio Naranjo, a Chilean psychiatrist and founder of the Seekers of Truth Institute. Naranjo was involved in Gestalt therapy, the advocacy of psychotropic drugs in therapy, and borrowed from eastern mysticism to promote the occult idea of a divine inner family of the soul. A third source of the Enneagram is the teaching of Islamic, Sufi mystic Gurdjieff, also covered in my “World Religions” book. Gurdjieff taught a state of unified consciousness and promoted transcending to this state of full human potential. His core ideas came from supposedly meeting both real and spirit beings from Tibet to Egypt.

The guilt-by-association factor provides sufficient, damning evidence. But my concern is simple. The Enneagram system seeks to do what Inner Healing and Deliverance through Christ does more effectively and without demonic associations. When the church denies the reality of spiritual warfare, it looks elsewhere for a more palatable substitute to overcome mankind’s descent into spiritual entropy and demonic bondage. The Enneagram is the new Christian yoga, yet another attempt to take that which is historically and foundationally demonic and sanctify it by redefinition and clever semantics. In the words of Isaiah 5:20, “Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who put darkness for light, and light for darkness; Who put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!”

Medicine Woman (Witchdoctor) wants to send Parkland Survivors a Dream Catcher

While politicians debate whether guns belong in the hands of teachers, a medicine woman, aka witchdoctor, has handed the Parkland, Florida school shooting survivors a talisman, a dream catcher, to welcome demons to their school. An article in "The Wall Street Journal" about this inane action was entitled, "A Talisman of Solidarity Given to Attack Survivors." (I'll save you the time to look up the word talisman: "an object supposed to possess occult powers and worn as an amulet or charm.") A dream catcher is a Native-American hoop, usually made of willow (this one is), fashioned with spiritually sacred items such as feathers and beads. Its purpose is to ward off evil spirits and welcome good ones. It's seen as a web to catch snakes and was often hung over the cradle of an infant.

This one, fashioned by female witchdoctor (known as a medicine woman) Debra Gutowski, has made the rounds of schools which have had shootings since it was first fashioned nearly 20 years ago to supposedly heal the wounds of Colorado's Columbine High School massacre. In this case the catcher is a poster, which is easier to transport. Gutowski said she made it because of its "healing" properties and "protective powers." This obviously occult emblem has been welcomed wherever it has been sent and will likely be embraced by the students and faculty of Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland. But imagine the outcry from liberals and atheists if an enshrined Bible, or plaque with a scripture, were being toted around from school to school in the aftermath of a shooting?

A dream catcher can't catch bad dreams or evil spirits. In fact, as an amulet of witchcraft, it attracts them. I'm sure that Gutowski means well, and so do those who cart around this object of evil. They have no understanding of spiritual warfare and certainly no comprehension regarding the supernatural world of demons. But there must be a Christian somewhere who will stand up and declare that we need the Bible, prayer, and the Ten Commandments back in school to stop the killing, not a hoop of superstition and demonism.

Why Some Believers Experience More Spiritual Warfare than Others.

There are some believers who falsely believe that if they have a lot of faith they will not undergo any suffering, severe tests or satanic attacks. Nothing could be further from the truth! Actually, the opposite is true.
For example, in the book of Job chapters 1 and 2, God actually asks Satan if he considered His servant Job. Hence, God brought Job to Satan's attention, not because Job was in sin, but because Job was the greatest servant of God on the earth at that time (read Job 1:6-12; 2:3-6).
Furthermore, Acts 19:15 illustrates how Paul the apostle was not only known in heaven, but also in hell! He had their attention! First Peter 5:8-9 teaches that Satan roams the earth seeking someone to devour, which also goes along with the Job narrative (Job 1:7). When we read the context of all these passages, especially in regards to the satanic focus on both Paul and Job, we can come to the conclusion that the devil's main focus is to thwart, divert, distract and disarm the servants of God who are promoting the rule of God on the earth as it is in heaven. Heaven is the only realm in the universe where everything is perfectly aligned under King Jesus, since the devil was displaced from there (Rev. 12:7-12).
Consequently, when someone on earth wants to bring the influence of the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven, Satan erupts with fear and anger against them since he doesn't want to be thrown out of another place!
This is why it seems as though a person following the will of God will sometimes have the most difficult tests, trials and resistance, as opposed to some saints who are casual seekers of God. Satan is no dummy, why should he attack a Christian who is a bad example to others and who is already deceived and in his grip? He will focus the most on those who are the biggest threats to his desire, to do a power grab from God over the earth realm! Remember: God gave Adam a commission to have His rule over the whole earth (Gen. 1:28), and immediately after that the devil came and convinced both Adam and Eve to disobey God and abandon their posts as God's vice regents over the earth (Gen. 3:1-8).
Since that time Satan has been jealously attempting to protect his control over the earthly realm he stole through subverting Adam, including its systems of government, commerce, media, the arts, science and education. Those who attempt to bring God's influence in these realms will most likely experience some of the highest levels of satanic resistance. The apostle Paul had a messenger from Satan follow him everywhere he went that caused riots and persecutions (2 Cor. 13:1-8), only because he was turning the present world system upside down (Acts 17:7).
So, if you are sold out for God, don't be discouraged when you are attacked or allow yourself to be deceived into thinking that the only reason you are in intense spiritual warfare or tribulation is because you may have missed God. It may be the opposite. You are being targeted because you are hitting the divine bull's eye! This is why Paul admonished believers to stand strong in the Lord: "Our struggle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers and the rulers of darkness in high places" (Ephesians 6:10-13). Notice: Paul said "our struggle" meaning he was including himself in this struggle. Every time there was an open door for ministry he had many adversaries. This is a biblical principle (read 1 Corinthians 16:9).
Do not ever think that just because God is calling you to do something that it will be easy. Jesus did the will of God and He was crucified, and church history tells us Paul was beheaded! It's not how many years we live, but what we do with the years we live that matters!
So, what do we do when we are in a time of spiritual warfare that Paul calls "the day of evil" in Ephesians 6:13? Paul tells us in this passage to be strong in the Lord and to stand firm; in other words, do not quit (Eph. 6:10-13).
The apostle Peter also tells us to resist the devil, standing firm in the faith (1 Pet. 5:9). Peter knows firsthand that faith in God is the key to standing firm in the midst of the day of evil because, when he denied Christ three times, Jesus prayed for him that his "faith" would not fail (Luke 22:31-32).
So, do not be afraid when you are in tribulation, because Jesus has already overcome the world (John 16:33)!
