The Bible reveals that Satan seeks to afflict people physically, often using sickness, oppression, and afflictions to hinder God’s people. As believers, we must recognize these attacks and use the authority given to us in Christ to overcome them. 1. Satan Brings Sickness and Disease: Scripture shows us that Satan has the power to afflict the human body with sickness and disease. In Luke 13:11-13, Jesus healed a woman who had been bound by "a spirit of infirmity" for eighteen years. He declared, "Ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound, lo, these eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath day?" (Luke 13:16). Similarly, Job 2:7 states, "So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD and struck Job with painful boils from the sole of his foot to the crown of his head."
