Why Every New Believer Needs Deliverance Ministry: Clearing the Path for Your Walk with Christ1/14/2026 Why Every New Believer Needs Deliverance Ministry: Clearing the Path for Your Walk with Christ
You gave your life to Christ. You said the prayer. You felt that weight lift off your shoulders. But something still feels off. Maybe you're still battling the same temptations. Maybe the same patterns keep showing up. Maybe you accepted Jesus, but the "old you" keeps knocking at the door. Here's the truth most churches won't tell you: salvation is the doorway, but deliverance clears the house. When you become a new believer, you receive a new spirit. But your soul, your mind, will, and emotions, still carries the baggage from your old life. Generational curses, past trauma, occult involvement, and deep-rooted sin patterns don't just disappear because you prayed a prayer. They need to be driven out. Salvation vs. Deliverance: Understanding the DifferenceMany new believers get confused here. They think salvation covers everything. It doesn't. Salvation deals with your spirit. The moment you accept Christ, your spirit is made new. You are born again. Your eternal destination is secured. Deliverance deals with your soul and body. This is where the enemy has built strongholds over the years, sometimes over generations. These areas need cleansing. They need liberation. Think of it this way: when you buy an old house, you get the deed immediately. That house is legally yours. But the previous owner's junk is still inside. Old furniture. Trash. Maybe even unwanted guests who refuse to leave. You own the house. But you still need to clean it out. That's exactly what deliverance ministry does for the new believer.
The Baggage New Believers CarryEvery person comes to Christ with a history. Nobody arrives at the cross with a clean slate. Here's what most new believers are unknowingly carrying: 1. Generational CursesYour family line matters in the spiritual realm. Iniquities pass down through bloodlines. Patterns of addiction, poverty, divorce, mental illness, and premature death don't happen by accident. They're often the fruit of curses operating through generations. When you get saved, you receive the authority to break these curses. But if you don't know they exist, you won't use that authority. Deliverance ministry identifies and breaks these generational patterns. 2. Occult InvolvementThis is more common than you think. Maybe you played with Ouija boards as a kid. Maybe you visited a psychic or had your palm read. Maybe you practiced yoga, meditation, or got involved in New Age spirituality before coming to Christ. Every one of these activities opens spiritual doors. Doors that demons use to gain legal access to your life. Deliverance ministry closes those doors permanently. 3. Trauma and Soul WoundsAbuse. Abandonment. Rejection. Betrayal. These experiences leave deep wounds in the soul. And demons attach themselves to wounds. Unforgiveness is one of the biggest entry points. When you hold onto bitterness from past hurts, you give the enemy legal ground to operate. Deliverance addresses these root issues and brings genuine healing. 4. Sexual Sin and Soul TiesSexual encounters create soul ties. Every person you've been intimate with outside of marriage, there's a spiritual connection that remains. These ungodly soul ties need to be broken. Pornography, adultery, fornication, and sexual perversion all create open doors for spirits of lust, perversion, and shame. New believers often struggle in this area because these ties were never properly severed.
Why Churches Skip This StepHere's the uncomfortable reality: most churches don't practice deliverance ministry. They preach salvation. They offer counseling. They run programs. But when it comes to actually casting out demons and breaking curses? Silence. Some pastors don't believe in it. Others are afraid of it. Many simply weren't trained in it. But Jesus was clear. In Mark 16:17, He said that believers would "cast out demons" as a sign that follows them. Deliverance wasn't optional in the early church, it was standard. The new believer deserves more than a welcome packet and a membership class. They deserve to be set free from everything the enemy attached to them before they knew Christ. What Happens During Deliverance MinistryIf you've never experienced deliverance, here's what to expect: 1. Interview and Assessment A trained deliverance minister will talk with you about your history. Family patterns. Past sins. Trauma. Occult involvement. This helps identify where the enemy has gained access. 2. Renunciation You'll verbally renounce every sin, curse, and demonic covenant from your past. This is you using your authority as a believer to cancel the enemy's legal rights. 3. Breaking of Curses and Soul Ties The minister will lead you through prayers that break generational curses, ungodly soul ties, and word curses spoken over your life. 4. Casting Out If demons are present, they'll be commanded to leave in Jesus' name. This can be dramatic or quiet, every session is different. But the result is the same: freedom. 5. Filling and Sealing After deliverance, you'll be prayed over to be filled with the Holy Spirit. The empty spaces where demons lived are now filled with God's presence.
The Fruit of Starting Your Walk With DeliveranceNew believers who go through deliverance ministry experience a different kind of Christian walk. Here's what changes:
Deliverance removes the resistance. It's like trying to run a race with weights tied to your ankles. Sure, you can move forward: but why struggle when you can run free? Addressing the SkepticsSome people say new believers shouldn't pursue deliverance right away. They argue you need to "grow in the Word" first before dealing with demonic issues. Here's the problem with that logic: the enemy doesn't wait for you to mature before attacking. New believers are often the most vulnerable. They're full of faith but lacking in knowledge. They don't know how to use their authority yet. Meanwhile, the demons that were attached to them before salvation are still there, fighting to maintain their position. Deliverance isn't something you earn. It's something you receive. Jesus paid for your freedom at the cross. You just need to collect what's already yours. The Church's Silent Struggle: Why Every Congregation Needs Deliverance Ministry
The modern church faces a crisis it refuses to acknowledge. Congregations across America are filled with believers who remain in spiritual bondage, yet pastors continue to ignore one of the most powerful tools Christ gave His disciples. Deliverance ministry isn't an optional add-on to church programming: it's a biblical mandate that every congregation desperately needs. The Uncomfortable Truth About Christian BondageBeing born again doesn't automatically eliminate every demonic foothold in your life. This harsh reality shocks many Christians who believe salvation instantly removes all spiritual oppression. The truth is far more complex. When you accept Christ, your spirit becomes regenerated and sealed by the Holy Spirit. However, your soul: your mind, will, and emotions: requires ongoing transformation. Demonic influence can persist in areas of your life that haven't been fully surrendered to Christ. Consider this: if salvation automatically removed all demonic influence, why would the New Testament contain numerous references to believers needing deliverance? The disciples themselves required ongoing spiritual warfare training from Jesus.
Why Churches Avoid Deliverance MinistryMost pastors actively avoid deliverance ministry for three primary reasons:
This avoidance creates a dangerous spiritual vacuum. Congregations become breeding grounds for unaddressed demonic activity while leadership pretends the problem doesn't exist. The Biblical Foundation Churches IgnoreJesus made deliverance ministry central to His earthly mission. In Luke 4:18, He declared: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim deliverance to the captives." Jesus didn't treat deliverance as an occasional ministry: He made it a defining marker of His work. When He commissioned the twelve disciples, He gave them authority to cast out demons alongside preaching and healing (Matthew 10:1). The early church continued this practice without question. Deliverance wasn't considered extraordinary or controversial: it was normal gospel ministry. Generational Curses: The Church's Hidden EpidemicEvery family line carries spiritual baggage from previous generations. These generational curses operate like invisible chains, binding believers to patterns of sin, sickness, and spiritual oppression. Common manifestations include:
Traditional counseling and prayer often fail to address these issues because they require deliverance ministry to break the spiritual legal rights demons claim.
Past Trauma Creates Demonic DoorwaysUnhealed trauma provides legal entry points for demonic oppression. When believers experience abuse, rejection, or significant loss without proper spiritual healing, these wounds create vulnerabilities that demons exploit. The church's typical response: "forgive and move on": fails to address the deeper spiritual dimensions of trauma. Surface-level forgiveness doesn't automatically close demonic doorways created by severe emotional wounds. Deliverance ministry addresses both the emotional healing and the spiritual warfare components of trauma recovery, providing complete restoration that traditional counseling cannot achieve alone. Signs Your Congregation Needs DeliveranceThese warning signs indicate widespread demonic oppression within a congregation:
When these patterns persist despite leadership changes and new programs, the root issue is spiritual warfare, not management problems. How Deliverance Creates RevivalTrue revival begins when congregations receive deliverance from demonic oppression. History demonstrates that every major revival movement included significant deliverance ministry components. When believers receive freedom from spiritual bondage:
Deliverance ministry doesn't create revival: it removes the demonic barriers preventing revival from manifesting in your congregation.
The Cost of Neglecting DeliveranceChurches that refuse to embrace deliverance ministry pay a devastating price:
The greatest tragedy is watching believers suffer needlessly when Christ has already provided complete victory through deliverance ministry. Biblical Deliverance vs. Unbiblical PracticesTrue biblical deliverance follows Christ's model and maintains scriptural boundaries. Legitimate deliverance ministry:
Unbiblical practices include occult methods, fear-based approaches, and ministers operating without proper training or accountability. Deliverance Ministry Maryland: Why Local Christians Are Choosing Biblical Exorcism Over Therapy12/31/2025 Deliverance Ministry Maryland: Why Local Christians Are Choosing Biblical Exorcism Over Therapy
Traditional therapy has its place, but when demonic oppression is the root cause of your struggles, only biblical deliverance can provide complete freedom. Christians across Maryland are discovering that years of counseling sessions haven't touched the spiritual warfare happening in their lives. At The Children's Bread Deliverance Ministry, we see this reality every day. Believers who have exhausted traditional mental health resources find breakthrough through biblical exorcism and deliverance ministry. The distinction between psychological issues and spiritual oppression is critical – and missing this difference keeps people trapped in cycles of suffering. When Therapy Isn't Enough: Recognizing Spiritual OppressionSecular therapy operates within a purely psychological framework that cannot address demonic activity. While counseling helps with many emotional and mental health concerns, it falls short when dealing with:
The symptoms often mirror psychological disorders, but the root is spiritual. Clients report feeling "stuck" despite years of therapy, medication that stops working, or breakthrough that never lasts. Traditional counselors lack the spiritual authority and biblical understanding to address demonic strongholds directly. Biblical Foundation for Deliverance MinistryJesus Christ established the pattern for deliverance ministry throughout His earthly ministry. Mark 16:17 declares that casting out demons is a sign that follows believers. This isn't ancient history – it's present-day reality for the Body of Christ. The Apostolic model shows deliverance as standard Christian practice. Acts 16:18 records Paul casting out a spirit of divination with a simple command. Acts 19:11-12 describes extraordinary miracles of deliverance happening through Paul's ministry. These weren't isolated incidents but normal expressions of Kingdom authority. Modern deliverance ministry operates under the same biblical principles:

The Children's Bread Deliverance Ministry combines biblical accuracy with practical experience. Every session follows scriptural principles while applying proven techniques that consistently produce results. This isn't amateur spiritual warfare – it's professional ministry backed by decades of successful deliverance. Identifying Your Need: Deliverance vs. Traditional CounselingUse this assessment to determine whether your struggles have spiritual roots requiring deliverance ministry: Indicators of Demonic Oppression:
Traditional Therapy Addresses:
The most effective approach often combines both biblical deliverance and appropriate counseling. Deliverance removes demonic oppression while counseling provides tools for ongoing emotional health and spiritual growth. The Deliverance Process: What to ExpectBiblical exorcism follows a systematic approach that ensures both effectiveness and safety. The Children's Bread Deliverance Ministry uses proven protocols developed through thousands of successful cases. Initial Consultation and Assessment: Every case begins with detailed intake to identify demonic activity, determine legal rights demons claim, and assess the client's spiritual condition. This consultation reveals the scope of oppression and creates a strategic plan for deliverance. Pre-Deliverance Preparation: Clients receive specific instructions for spiritual preparation including prayer, fasting, confession, and removing occult objects from their environment. This preparation weakens demonic strongholds before the actual deliverance session.
The Deliverance Session: Using biblical authority, demons are commanded to identify themselves, confess their legal rights, and leave immediately. The process varies in length depending on the severity of oppression, but most cases resolve within single sessions. Post-Deliverance Follow-up: Maintaining freedom requires ongoing spiritual vigilance. Clients receive detailed instructions for preventing re-infestation, strengthening their relationship with Christ, and recognizing early warning signs of attempted return. Maryland Accessibility and Global ReachThe Children's Bread Deliverance Ministry serves Maryland residents through convenient in-person sessions while offering global accessibility via secure Zoom consultations. This flexibility ensures that geographic location doesn't prevent access to biblical deliverance. In-person sessions in Maryland provide the full deliverance experience with direct ministry and immediate follow-up support. Many clients prefer face-to-face ministry for the personal connection and comprehensive spiritual assessment possible in physical presence. Zoom sessions extend deliverance ministry worldwide without compromising effectiveness. Digital deliverance follows identical protocols and achieves the same results as in-person ministry. Spiritual authority operates regardless of physical distance. Breaking Cycles Through Spiritual WarfareGenerational curses represent one of the most powerful applications of deliverance ministry. When entire family lines struggle with identical problems – addiction, poverty, abuse, mental illness, or premature death – demonic inheritance through bloodlines requires spiritual intervention. Traditional therapy treats individual symptoms without addressing the spiritual root. Deliverance ministry breaks the actual curses that perpetuate generational bondage, providing freedom for current and future generations. The process identifies specific curse origins:
Breaking these curses requires spiritual authority that secular counseling cannot provide. Only biblical deliverance addresses the demonic legal rights that perpetuate generational bondage across family lines. The Integration Approach: Biblical Deliverance and Christian CounselingThe most comprehensive healing combines deliverance ministry with biblical counseling principles. The Children's Bread Deliverance Ministry recognizes that emotional healing often accompanies spiritual breakthrough. Deliverance removes the spiritual oppression while counseling addresses the emotional wounds that provided access points for demonic activity. This integrated approach produces lasting transformation rather than temporary relief. Christian counseling differs significantly from secular therapy by acknowledging spiritual realities, incorporating biblical truth, and recognizing the role of sin and demonic activity in human suffering. This framework provides complete healing for spirit, soul, and body. Taking Action: Your Next StepsIf you recognize signs of spiritual oppression in your life, delaying action allows demonic activity to strengthen. www.deliverancexorcisms.com Phone: 301-732-3451 IA Hidden Bondage Affecting Many Christians: Across deliverance ministry, one of the most common—yet least understood—forms of demonic oppression is the spiritual spouse, sometimes referred to as incubus (male demon) or succubus (female demon). These spirits attempt to form an unholy, covenant-like attachment to a person, mimicking intimacy, jealousy, and a controlling relationship. While the Bible does not use the modern term “spiritual spouse,” the behaviors and manifestations are consistent with biblical teachings on demonic seduction, unholy covenants, and spiritual defilement (2 Corinthians 11:3; Hosea 4:12; 1 Corinthians 6:15–20). Their mission is simple: To corrupt purity, block godly relationships, and hinder spiritual growth. What Are Spiritual Spouses? A spiritual spouse is a demon that claims legal rights, ownership, or marriage-like covenant rights over a person. These rights are gained through open doors—sometimes through sin, trauma, or ancestral covenants. Common Legal Rights They Use:
How Spiritual Spouses Attack Believers 1. Sexual Dreams or Night Violations: People experience unwanted sexual encounters in dreams, sleep paralysis, or sensations of being touched. These experiences are spiritual in nature, not psychological fantasy. 2. Interference in Relationships and Marriage A spiritual spouse may cause:
Some feel watched, followed, or oppressed—especially when pursuing a romantic relationship or growing spiritually. 4. Physical Manifestations: These can include:
These demons hinder:
Biblical Foundations for Understanding Spiritual Spouses: Though the term is not explicitly used, Scripture supports the principles behind these demonic attacks. 1. Demonic Seduction “But I fear… your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.” —2 Corinthians 11:3 Evil spirits can seduce, deceive, and attach themselves like spiritual lovers. 2. Unholy Covenants: “A spirit of prostitution leads them astray.” —Hosea 4:12 This scripture describes a spiritual entity drawing people into unholy intimacy. 3. Sexual Sin Creates Spiritual Bonds: “He who is joined to a harlot is one body with her.” —1 Corinthians 6:16 Sexual activity—physical or imagined—creates spiritual openings. 4. Demonic Night Attacks: “You shall not be afraid of the terror by night.” —Psalm 91:5 Nighttime spiritual oppression is real and biblically recognized. Why These Spirits Gain Such Strong Attachments: Sex was created by God as a covenant act, not merely physical. Because of this, the enemy counterfeits intimacy to form demonic covenants. Where God created:
Signs You May Be Dealing With a Spiritual Spouse: Common indicators include:
How Deliverance Breaks Spiritual Spouses: Freedom requires the authority of Jesus Christ and intentional steps of renunciation. 1. Renouncing Every CovenantUngodly agreements—voiced or unvoiced—must be broken in Jesus’ name. 2. Closing Sexual DoorwaysRepentance removes the legal rights demons rely on. 3. Breaking Generational CovenantsThese spirits often enter through ancestral witchcraft or sexual sin. 4. Casting Out the Spirit“In My name they shall cast out demons.” —Mark 16:17 The command of Jesus expels them. 5. Restoring Purity and Spiritual CoveringThe Holy Spirit fills the areas once held by darkness. A Deliverance Prayer Against Spiritual SpousesFather, in the name of Jesus, I renounce every covenant, vow, pact, or spiritual marriage made knowingly or unknowingly. I break every soul tie created through sexual sin, dreams, trauma, or ancestral covenants. I cancel every legal right claimed by incubus, succubus, or any spiritual spouse. I command these spirits to leave me now in the name of Jesus Christ. I declare that my body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. I belong to Jesus alone, and every counterfeit relationship is broken. I receive freedom, cleansing, and restoration. In Jesus’ name—Amen. Freedom Is Possible: Spiritual spouses are real and destructive, but they are not stronger than Jesus Christ. Deliverance brings freedom, healing, and restoration to those who seek it. If you recognize these signs in your life or in others, do not remain silent. Seek a trusted deliverance minister and allow the Holy Spirit to break every unholy covenant. Why Prophets Need Deliverance Too
By Pastor Miguel Bustillos – Deliverance Minister & Exorcist When people think of prophets, they often imagine men and women who walk in extraordinary anointing—individuals who hear God clearly, operate in revelation, and carry great authority in the Spirit. Yet the Bible teaches us an important truth: a high calling does not exempt anyone from spiritual warfare. In fact, the enemy often targets prophets more intensely because of the influence they carry. This is why prophets need deliverance too. Not because they are weak—but because they are human, and their assignment places them on the front lines of spiritual conflict. 1. Prophets Are Spiritually Sensitive — But Sensitivity Can Become a Burden Prophets are spiritually sensitive by design. They perceive, discern, and feel things in the unseen realm. This sensitivity is a gift, but it can also become an open door to:
Deliverance restores balance, clarity, and strength. 2. Prophets Often Walk Into Situations With Hidden Demonic Assignments Because prophets confront darkness, the enemy assigns targeted attacks against them:
A Real Story From My ministry some years ago, I was called to pray for a woman who was struggling with severe spiritual oppression. As soon as I walked into the room, the Holy Spirit revealed the presence of a Jezebel spirit operating in her life. But as I continued ministering, the Lord showed me something deeper: her husband was also under demonic influence. I looked at him gently and said, “Brother, you also need deliverance. Jezebel has influenced both of you.” The moment I said that, he became upset. He lifted his chin and replied with confidence: “That cannot be. I am a prophet.” He was gifted. He could prophesy. The gift was genuine. But the shocking truth was this: Despite claiming to be a prophet, he could not discern that his own wife was demonized by Jezebel. He could not see that the same spirit had influenced him as well. The prophetic gift was functioning—but his discernment was compromised. And this is what many people misunderstand: A gift can still operate even when the vessel needs deliverance. Being a prophet does not mean a person is immune to demonic deception. It only means the enemy works harder to blind them. This man was offended at the idea of needing deliverance. But the truth remains: an unhealed vessel can carry an active gift and still be vulnerable to the enemy. 3. The Anointing Does Not Replace Inner Healing A prophetic calling does not automatically fix:
The enemy often marks prophetic people early in life with trauma, abandonment, or emotional pain—trying to break them before they walk into their calling. Deliverance sets prophets free from the wounds that the anointing alone does not heal. 4. Biblical Prophets Needed Deliverance Scripture reveals that even the greatest prophetic voices battled spiritual bondage: David : Constantly cried out for deliverance from spiritual enemies. (Psalm 59:1) Jeremiah: Struggled with despair and oppression. Elijah: Battled fear and intimidation from Jezebel. Jonah: Wrestled with rebellion, anger, and bitterness. If biblical prophets needed deliverance, then modern-day prophets should not be ashamed to seek it. 5. Deliverance Protects the Accuracy of the Prophetic Flow When a prophet carries unhealed wounds or demonic interference, it can distort their prophetic flow:
The man in my story had a true prophetic gift—but the Jezebel spirit blinded him to the spiritual condition in his own home. Gifting is not the same as freedom. Calling is not the same as purity. And prophecy is not the same as discernment. 6. No One Outgrows Deliverance Deliverance is not for the spiritually weak-- it is for the spiritually responsible. Paul writes: “I discipline my body and bring it into subjection.” — 1 Corinthians 9:27 Every believer—prophet, pastor, or layperson—must continually examine their heart and walk in freedom. Prophets especially must remain free so they can:
Prophets Need Deliverance to Stay Sharp Prophets are not exempt from spiritual battles—they are targeted by them. Deliverance keeps the prophetic vessel:
This is why even prophets must seek deliverance continually. Need Deliverance or Inner Healing? If you are a prophet, pastor, or believer in ministry experiencing spiritual warfare, you don’t have to walk alone. Senior Pastor, The Children’s Bread Deliverance Ministry www.deliverancexorcisms.com From the beginning of creation, Satan has sought to enslave humanity through lies. In the Garden of Eden, he didn’t use force—he used deception. His first attack was not physical but spiritual, questioning the truth of God’s Word: “Did God really say…?” (Genesis 3:1). That same strategy is alive today. Every believer faces the daily choice: Will I believe the truth of God’s Word, or the lies of the devil? 1. The Battle for the Mind: The real war between good and evil happens in the mind. The enemy knows that whoever controls your thoughts controls your destiny. Jesus said, “You shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free” (John 8:32). Truth brings freedom; lies bring bondage. When you believe lies like “I’m worthless,” “God has abandoned me,” or “My sin is too great,” you give the devil power over your emotions and decisions. But when you stand on God’s truth--“I am loved” (Romans 8:38–39), “I am chosen” (1 Peter 2:9), “I am forgiven” (1 John 1:9)—you break the chains of deception and step into liberty. 2. Truth Exposes Darkness: Satan’s kingdom thrives in secrecy and confusion. But the Word of God shines light on every lie. Jesus called Satan “the father of lies” (John 8:44), while declaring Himself “the way, the truth, and the life” (John 14:6). When Jesus faced Satan in the wilderness, He didn’t debate—He declared: “It is written…” (Matthew 4:4). Each time, the truth of Scripture shattered the devil’s temptation. Likewise, when you speak God’s Word with faith, you drive out darkness and silence the voice of the accuser. 3. The Truth Brings Deliverance: Deliverance begins with believing God. Satan loses power when a believer replaces lies with divine truth. If the enemy says, “You will never change,” God says, “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation” (2 Corinthians 5:17). If he says, “You’re defeated,” the Word says, “We are more than conquerors through Him who loved us” (Romans 8:37). If he says, “You’re alone,” the truth says, “I will never leave you nor forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5). Every lie broken by Scripture weakens Satan’s grasp, bringing you closer to the freedom Jesus purchased at the Cross. 4. Living in Daily Freedom: Freedom is not a one-time event; it’s a daily walk with the truth. Renew your mind through Scripture (Romans 12:2). Fill your heart with worship, prayer, and thanksgiving. The more you know God’s Word, the harder it becomes for the enemy to deceive you. Those who live by truth walk in spiritual authority and peace. Lies enslave, but truth liberates. Choose to walk in the light and watch the enemy lose his hold over your life. Believing the truth of the Bible over the lies of Satan is the path to true deliverance. The Word of God exposes deception, renews your mind, and restores your authority in Christ. As Jesus said, “If the Son sets you free, you shall be free indeed” (John 8:36). Freedom is found in knowing, believing, and declaring the truth. Choose truth. Choose freedom. Choose Christ. Recently, The Times of India reported a horrifying case in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh, where a 32-year-old woman was raped repeatedly under the pretext of exorcism. The perpetrator claimed to be delivering her from evil spirits but instead exploited her vulnerability for his own wicked desires. This tragic event is not just a crime—it is a perversion of what true deliverance ministry is meant to be.
Deliverance Is Not Abuse Biblical deliverance is centered on Jesus Christ and His finished work on the cross. Scripture makes it clear that the power to set the captives free comes only through Him:
Warning Signs of a False Deliverance Minister Sadly, cases like the one in India remind us that not everyone claiming to do deliverance is truly sent by God. Here are red flags to watch for:
What happened in Rewa is a stark reminder that the enemy often disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14). The devil will use impostors to discredit the true ministry of deliverance and to harm God’s people. As ministers, we must condemn such evil acts and stand for the purity of Christ’s work. As believers, we must be wise and discerning, testing the spirits to see whether they are from God (1 John 4:1). Deliverance is real. Freedom in Christ is real. But so are the dangers of wolves who prey on the vulnerable. Stay alert, stay in the Word, and keep your eyes on Jesus—the only true Deliverer. However, not every person experiences full deliverance during their first session. This can be discouraging, but understanding the reasons why this occurs is crucial for both ministers and those seeking freedom. Here are some key biblical and spiritual insights to help explain why deliverance may not happen immediately.
1. Lack of Genuine Repentance and Renunciation of Sin: Deliverance begins with repentance. The Word of God teaches us that harboring sin gives the enemy legal grounds (Ephesians 4:27). If an individual refuses to let go of certain sins or does not fully renounce occult involvement, soul ties, or sinful behaviors, the demons may remain. James 4:7 – “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.” Key Point: Submission to God is a prerequisite for resisting the devil. Without repentance and full surrender, freedom cannot be enforced. 2. Hidden or Unconfessed Legal Rights: Demons operate through legal rights. These may include:
Proverbs 26:2 – “Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an undeserved curse does not come to rest.” Key Point: Identifying and removing legal rights is often a process, not a one-time event. 3. Need for Inner Healing Before Deliverance: Some individuals are deeply wounded emotionally or psychologically due to abuse, abandonment, or trauma. In such cases, deliverance cannot be forced. The Holy Spirit may prioritize healing the heart before casting out demons. Luke 4:18 – “He has sent me to heal the brokenhearted…” Key Point: A person must be strengthened and stabilized before full deliverance is possible. 4. Dissociation or Fragmented Soul: In complex cases, individuals may experience dissociation (such as alternate personalities, also known as "alters"). These fragmented parts of the soul often carry pain, fear, or are stuck in traumatic events. Deliverance cannot be complete until the soul is made whole through integration and healing. Psalm 23:3 – “He restores my soul…” Key Point: Healing dissociation is a spiritual and emotional process that takes time and patience. 5. Demonic Resistance or Strongholds: Sometimes demons simply refuse to leave easily. This may be due to:
Key Point: Deliverance can be a spiritual battle that may require fasting, persistence, and multiple sessions. 6. Lack of Discipleship and Spiritual Maturity: Some individuals come for deliverance but are not ready to maintain it. Jesus warned: Matthew 12:43–45 – “When an impure spirit comes out of a person… it returns… and the final condition of that person is worse than the first.” Deliverance without discipleship and obedience to Christ can be dangerous. It’s important the person is discipled, rooted in the Word, and connected to a church before full deliverance is completed. 7. It’s a Process, Not a One-Time Event: Deliverance is not always instant. Like peeling an onion, the Holy Spirit may bring freedom layer by layer. Each session removes something deeper. Philippians 1:6 – “…He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion…” Key Point: Deliverance is often progressive, not immediate. Be patient with the process. Don’t Give Up: If you or someone you minister to didn’t receive full deliverance during the first session, don’t be discouraged. God is faithful, and He desires freedom for His children. Continue the process with faith, fasting, forgiveness, and obedience. God’s timing is perfect, and He will complete the work He began. ✝️ Need Help? Deliverancexorcisms.com | The Children’s Bread Deliverance Ministry “But even if we or an angel from heaven preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed.” — Galatians 1:8 (NKJV) Cults are spiritual traps that operate in deception, control, and fear. Though they often appear religious or even “Christian,” they lead their followers away from biblical truth and the saving grace of Jesus Christ. As a deliverance minister, I have worked with many individuals who have escaped cults—wounded, spiritually broken, and in need of healing. This article will equip you to identify cults, recognize spiritual manipulation, and walk in freedom through Christ. What Is a Cult? A cult is any group that deviates from orthodox biblical Christianity and often centers around a charismatic leader, extra-biblical revelation, or authoritarian control. Cults typically:
Real-World Example: Abdullah Hashem and Cult Leadership: One example of a modern cult leader is Abdullah Hashem, who has been accused of establishing a group that exhibits cult-like characteristics. Former members and observers have reported manipulation, authoritarian control, unbiblical teachings, and exploitation. Allegedly, he used his influence to present himself as a divine messenger or enlightened teacher, gradually gaining total control over the lives of his followers. This pattern of spiritual abuse is a hallmark of cult leadership. Important Note: The purpose of sharing this example is not to condemn individuals but to help believers recognize spiritual danger. The Bible tells us to “test the spirits” (1 John 4:1) and to beware of wolves in sheep’s clothing (Matthew 7:15). Biblical Signs of a Cult:
Symptoms of Cult Involvement:
How to Break Free from a Cult 1. Recognize the Deception: Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal truth to you. John 16:13 says He will guide you into all truth. 2. Compare All Teachings to the Bible Acts 17:11 commends the Bereans who searched the Scriptures daily to test what they heard. 3. Renounce Ungodly Covenants and Soul Ties Prayer: “In the name of Jesus Christ, I renounce all agreements, vows, and soul ties made with [name of group or leader]. I break every ungodly covenant and command all spirits of control, fear, and deception to leave me now in Jesus’ name.” 4. Seek Deliverance and Inner Healing Spiritual abuse leaves deep wounds. Many people need deliverance ministry to break spiritual strongholds that formed through the cult. 5. Recommit Your Life to Jesus Alone Your Savior is not a leader or a group—it is Jesus Christ alone. John 14:6 declares that He is the only way. 6. Get Connected to a Healthy Church A Bible-believing, Spirit-led church will help you heal and grow. You are not meant to walk alone. Final Thoughts: Freedom Is Possible If you have been involved in a cult—whether knowingly or unknowingly—know this: freedom is possible in Jesus Christ. No group can save you, no man can replace the authority of God's Word, and no fear has power over a child of God who walks in truth. If you need help or prayer, our ministry is here to support you.
